Help Us to Do Arithmetic

A very simple book to help your child to do arithmetic. The book reinforces how to use your knowledge of partitioning and inverse to work out the missing answer. Encourage your child to talk about what they need to do. There is one simple example to remind your child that when adding there are at least two numbers and you can use what you know to work out the blank number. For instance 1 add 19 equals twenty the number sentence could look like this ___ + 19 = 20 These questions should help to develop your child's confidence. Encourage your child to work it out and explain what they did. There are also examples of common mistakes and misconceptions that children may have with blank questions.
