Throughout this research paper, consideration will be made to how a digital game can raise engagement and attainment levels in maths within a Year 4 class. This action research was taken place within a school in the Caerphilly County Borough. The school has 428 pupils with 16 single-age classes. Around 12% of pupils are eligible for free school meals, which is below the local and national average. The school identifies 14% of pupils with additional learning needs (Estyn, 2014). For the purpose of this research; the School will be referred as School A.
