This piece of academic research was carried out over a four-week placement in an outer-city Newport Primary School which has classes ranging from Nursery up to Year Six. During the time of research, there were 275 pupils registered in the primary school. The research was based in a Year 2 class, which educated thirty children, twenty-two of which were boys with only eight girls. Interventions involved the student teacher and three low ability learners.
