Publisher Description
'Making money is a knack, a knack that can be acquired. And if someone like me can become rich, then so can you - no matter what your present circumstances. Here is how I did it and what I learned along the way.' So writes Felix Dennis, who believes that almost anyone of reasonable intelligence can become rich, given sufficient motivation and application.
How To Get Rich is a distillation of his business wisdom. Primarily concerned with the step-by-step creation of wealth, it ruthlessly dissects the business failures and financial triumphs of 'a South London lad who became rich virtually by accident'. Part manual, part memoir, part primer, this book is a template for those who are willing to stare down failure and transform their lives.
Canny, infuriating, cynical and generous by turns, How To Get Rich is an invaluable guide to 'the surprisingly simple art of collecting money which already has your name on it'.
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
This is not your usual get-rich-quick manual. Though Dennis, a poet (When Jack Sued Jill: Nursery Rhymes for Modern Times) and the founder of a publishing empire (including Maxim magazine), wants to help the reader rank at least among the "lesser rich" (equal to a net worth of $30 million $80 million by his definition), he isn't himself motivated by money. With his own fortune estimated at between $400 million and $900 million, he doesn't have to be. Instead, Dennis wants to demystify the money-getting process, and his straight-talking, honest advice makes a refreshing change in this oversaturated field. Using humorous examples from his own business life, Dennis's advice, from "The Five Most Common Start-Up Errors" to "The Power of Focus," might sound like conventional fare, but delivered in his signature bawdy, British style, it's altogether more entertaining and more practical. Dennis highlights the right strategies and mindset to get readers their millions, but he won't air-brush his story or soften the bitter truth along the way. As he says, when it comes to acquiring wealth, "being a bit of a shit helps."

How to get Rich
At most likely the mid point of my life, I'm now at the point where I can no longer work for another human being! The fact that I still rent and live in my overdraft has made me search for a way out, I believe if I do not go for it in these next 10 years then I'm doomed from ever getting a new super-sports motorcycle!
Money is relative! The more you have the stuff you can get, when I was in my 20s I lived for the now and acquired as much money as I needed, this concept stayed with me through my 30s...until now!
How to get rich by FD is a blunt and no holds book about the story of his experience in gathering coin and it's a pleasure to read. As an ex military man who has fought for life and death I can relate to his cut throat obsession to reach the pound summit. The book deals with focus, pitfalls, bad advice and the blunt reality and humour that you must maintain to get rich. The quotes and poems along the way make excellent Wikipedia research offshoots which sew into the journey well. FD is no longer getting rich or planting trees as he died some time ago, but I know his words will not wither with his decaying chassis as they are in my head and I must now go for it! Good luck.

Love this book unlike so many on the airport bookshelf, it's a direct softly spoken read on why or if you should become the business and have the will yo see it through.
