Howards End is a novel by E. M. Forster, first published in 1910, which tells a story of social and familial relations in turn-of-the-century England.
How have I missed this until now
A very enjoyable story, pompous and affected and filled with a very English sense of not knowing how or why things happen the way they do. Only dealing with the consequences as and when they appear. It felt to me like a series of ambushes that E M Forster sets for the reader and I for one tumbled in time after time.
