Like many children of our youth, Zack, the main character, strives to find the right look for him throughout the text. He attempts various appearances and is certain he wants to imitate other characters displayed on the walls of the paint shop. This is a seemingly relatable topic while observing the society children are forced to face in 2012. There is not one particular style or conformity that our youth is more commonly to take, so often children go through phases and paint themselves to be something theyre not. I WANT TO BE LIKE illustrates that while in trying out different styles is perfectly acceptable- so is being yourself.
