If I Die Young

As World War One breaks out in Europe, Patrick O'Connor, a young Irish farmer is swept away by an over whelming feeling for something more. His whole life he had spent on his family's farm outside a small town. He wanted to see the world and find adventure. The war would be a perfect way to go aboard or so he thought. Although he had made up his mind to join the Army, he fought with himself on leaving his family and his longtime sweetheart, Shannon, behind. When Patrick arrived in France, he was full of youthful enthusiasm. Only to have it dashed by the reality of war. When he joined the Army it was with the hope of finding adventure. After his arrival to the trenches his hopes turned from adventure to just survival.
