Derek P. appeals from a harassment injunction prohibiting him from having any contact with Micheal D. Derek argues that it was an error of law for the court to refuse to appoint a guardian ad litem for the minor petitioner Micheal. Derek further argues that there was insufficient evidence to support the injunction. Contrary to Dereks assertion that the decision whether to appoint a guardian ad litem is a question of law which the appellate court reviews de novo, the decision is discretionary. We hold that there was no misuse of discretion in the courts decision not to appoint a guardian ad litem for Micheal. Furthermore, we conclude that there was sufficient evidence for the court to determine that Derek had harassed Micheal and would continue to do so, and thus there was an adequate basis for the injunction. We affirm.
