Write what you know
I’m afraid reading this, at best, serviceable spy/thriller story put me off reading anything else by the author for a long time. As I stated in another review I posted, for good or ill, you will never find a female member of the British aristocracy called Beryl. The cleaner might be called Beryl, but not the lady of the manor. In a country still riddled with class distinction such a glaring error totally undermined the narrative.
The dialogue was also suspect. Perhaps a few episodes of Made in Chelsea (had it existed when the book was published) would have helped.
Such a pity, as I love the Rizzoli & Isles books, as well as her romance stories.
