Publisher Description
"I'm not an ordinary child. I'm the daughter of Ian McRae – an assassin. That alone is big. But a hit-man who can read minds and can make you do and forget things by the touch of his hand? The word ordinary will never apply. Not in a million years. Especially, since I have the same ability."
In general, Elle's main concern is to keep her secret life a secret. Act normal. Live as normal. Blend in.
But when a boy saves her from a near mishap, Elle has no idea that this boy will unravel her, she has no idea that she will make decisions that are unheard of, she has no idea that she will be pulled in the middle of a dangerous hunt – between her own father and the boy who saved her.
"The many unpredictable twists and turns that the story takes draw you in and keep you on your toes. This is one of those books that once you start reading it, you just won't want to put it down." - Reviewed by Dinorah Blackman for Readers' Favorite

In her brilliant novel Insight, M. Rees introduces Elle: a seventeen-year-old who has quite an unusual life. At her young age, she has already been trained in espionage and the use of weapons. But Elle and her dad have a special gift. A gift so powerful that it led her mother, Faye, to reject and abandon her own child. Ian, however, adores his daughter and would do anything to keep her safe, especially because he’s collected quite a few enemies in his line of work. When her father travels to England on one of his missions, Elle stubbornly follows him. She sees it as an opportunity to prove that she can take care of herself. There she meets Lennox, and as their friendship grows she discovers that they have a lot in common, maybe too much. When Lennox finds out who murdered his parents, he needs to make a tough decision. Will he choose revenge? M. Rees is a wonderful storyteller. Insight is appealing to any reader who loves action, drama, and fiction peppered with sarcasm and humor. Her use of analogy and symbolism is tasteful, elegant, and timely. Most of the plot develops in England, and Rees masterfully describes the scenery in a way that almost makes you feel like you’ve been there before. The many unpredictable twists and turns that the story takes draw you in and keep you on your toes. This is one of those books that once you start reading it, you just won’t want to put it down.
