Publisher Description
This slim, but richly illustrated, biography of Jackson Pollock has stood the test of time since its first publication in 1959. Still a sound, but laudatory, study of all of Pollock's periods; which are weighed and appreciated in chronological order. Frank O'Hara was a well-known and universally respected poet who was an integral part of the New York artistic scene until his death in 1966.
Customer Reviews
One of the very first books on Pollock
This was an early if not first book in Pollock following only a couple of years after his death. It is a well written and factual overview of Pollock life without needles philosophical analysis and criticism. The final part of the book is lots of plates of Pollocks work. They, apart form a few, in B&w, but there are lots, covering fully the body of work including some rare works that you don't see in books these days. If you are a pollock fan, for the price is a total no brained. Just get it.
