Japan & Self Existence - Outstanding Read
One of the best and most honest autobiographies I’ve ever read , made all the more poignant by Mick’s tragic and premature death 5 years after originally published. I loved Japan and DS early work but have for some time felt Sylvian’s pomposity and clearly controlling nature somewhat off putting. This book confirms my suspicions. Of course there are two sides to every story but until you print yours Mr S, I know who I believe. Reading this has given me a massive urge to discover more of Mick’s post Japan material and legacy. RIP Mick. ❤️
Truth
Well Mick comes across as a real nice, sensitive guy.
He made mistakes, he loved, people loved him.
There were so many things in this book that rang true with my own life.
I am not a bass player nor have I been in a successful band but I am human, I am fragile and I have found my way later in life.
It is a real pleasure to read into the person not the persona, thank you for the opportunity Mick.
It is a massive shame there is not going to be a second book now you've really moved on.....
Mick's up
RIP Mick, thanks for your music.
Great read.
