Publisher Description
John "Johnny the Boxer" Fury was a 1930s era gangster in Rochester and Monroe County, New York. His specialty was stealing safes. A career criminal, Fury had twenty-eight offenses on his record before being assigned to Attica Prison in 1936. John was part of a team of three men who carried out safe crimes beginning in 1928. The matter of whether he was a first or second offender was debated in county, appellate and appeals courts until 1939.
