__________
Captain. Father. Leader. Fearless ambassador. World-class midfielder.
Jordan Henderson is all of these things, and it is why he is one of the most widely respected players of his generation.
In this tell-all autobiography, Jordan reveals how his early love for the game as a kid became an all-consuming passion that led him to follow his dream - to play for his home club of Sunderland. Transferred to Liverpool in June 2011, Jordan's early years at the club saw him struggle to settle under Sir Kenny Dalglish then Brendan Rodgers before eventually establishing himself at Anfield as a force of nature in midfield.
In 2015, Jordan took the reins from Steven Gerrard. Under his captaincy, Liverpool have reached monumental heights - winning six trophies headed by the Champions League and the Premier League, bringing the club its first league title in 30 years.
In this book, Jordan charts his decade-long journey with the Reds, and a behind-the-scenes look at his life both on and off the pitch.
A must-read not only for Liverpool fans but for football lovers everywhere, this is the candid behind-the-scenes look into the lire of a top-flight footballer as you've never seen it before.

Former Liverpool captain gives reader understanding of life at Anfield
This book ended quite abruptly and it finishes with Henderson’s thoughts after Liverpool lost to Real Madrid in the 2022 Champions League final and I felt it finished quite abruptly.
The former Liverpool captain writes “this story certainly isn’t over” and I am sure this book will be updated.
There are no chapters on Henderson’s thoughts on leaving Liverpool FC, a club he played for, for 12 years and won some of the biggest trophies in the game.
It was interesting to read that Brendan Rodgers was not a “big admirer” of Henderson when Rodgers took up the manager’s job at Liverpool. When he first came to Anfield, Rodgers was prepared to let Henderson go but he wasn’t “going to force (him) out of the door either”. Henderson stuck it out and his resilience comes through in these pages.
When Henderson’s dad is diagnosed with cancer, it is Rodgers who helps him after his dad goes to see the manager.
He writes that the birth in July 2013 "lit up” his world and helped him “see things in a different way.”
He also gives his reaction on Sir Alex’s Ferguson’s famous quote on how United had looked at him but how “we thought his gait might cause him problems later in his career.” Henderson is obviously in awe of Ferguson and responds, “I was flattered that one of the greatest managers of all time had been thinking about signing me at all.”
Henderson also gives an insight into the love the Liverpool players had for Jurgen Klopp and writes, “put it this way – all of the lads would run through a brick wall for him.”
The book includes the highs of Henderson’s Liverpool career, such as when Liverpool beat Barcelona at Anfield in the semi-final of the 2019 Champions League, and the lows, including breaking his metatarsal.
An interesting read and I’m looking forward to the updated version.
