Once more Adrian Burton and his young partner, Rowan Rolf, confront a baffling crime scene. Investigating on an army base where military authorities would be content to dismiss a tragic mass killing as an unfortunate accident, nothing seemed to fit the circumstances. Amidst the furore caused by the incident, a young software engineer confronts the challenges of a precarious marriage, the intellectual and emotional battles of his religious past and encounters with those who confront him with their spiritual reality.
