If you received a mysterious invitation for a fun-filled festive train ride the week before Christmas, would you go?

When teacher Dee Nicholls receives her invitation, she isn’t sure what to make of it. Surely it’s some kind of joke to get her out of bed early on a weekend? Perhaps a clever festive marketing ploy?

But as the Christmas countdown begins, it becomes clear that Dee isn’t the only “Jingle Bells Express” invitee. There are other people out there who have received the same invitation: Tom the intern, Rachel the aspiring writer, Dylan the musician and his dog Muttley – and they’re not the only ones!

Could the unusual festive journey they eventually take together show them all the true meaning of Christmas, and also that happiness is sometimes right in front of you – if you just take the time to look

Lovely Xmas read!

Berni Stevens wrote a small story about a group of strangers that receive an invite to a train ride before Christmas. Who is it from and should they go? Would that lead to new relationships and new friendships? It would definitely make readers smile and get on the Christmas mood!

Magical feel-good Christmas story

A bunch of random strangers receive invites to a mystery train ride departing from Liverpool Street Station the Saturday before Christmas.
One of them (Rachel) is suspicious so she puts an advert in the paper to see if anyone else has received the same invitation. They all arrive at The Greyhound pub & end up pairing off (either just after receiving the invite, in the pub or on the train).
They are on the train for several hours and it starts to feel as though they are in a giant snow globe.
I loved the interaction between the characters. The story is magical & brilliant. Made me feel all Christmassy.

Highly entertaining

A quick and very enjoyable read and, yes, I was laughing all the way through. Even discovered I was humming Christmas music to accompany the book.

An intriguing idea, funny, imaginative, guaranteed to put a smile to your face.
