Little Moons

The normally quiet street was full of people, even others as young as Annie. The twins from across the road, the boy from two doors away who Annie thought was horrible and her cousin from the corner house.
‘Look at the sky Annie’ said her Dad ‘Isn’t it lovely.’
She had never seen such a clear sky with so many sparkling lights.
‘Where have all those little moons come from Daddy?’ Annie had never seen streetlights before
‘They are there to help you find your way darling; just like all those other little moons who watch over you.’
