It was scary and romantic in parts and had a feisty heroine.í J.K. Rowling, author of the Harry Potter books, writing in The Bookseller

The Little White Horse
This book is a great book and I recommend that people of every age should try it!!!!!
Blissful
I have been a voracious reader my entire life, so when I say this is my favourite childhood book, and in the top ten of my all-time favourite books, it gives some idea of just how enchanting this book is.
Beautifully written, and a superb example of creating imagery through words, The Little White Horse still brings me enormous joy.
The Little White Horse
As a child, this was my favourite book. I have not read it for many years but coming back to it I still love it. You could accuse the writing of being rather saccharine and over moralistic for today's tastes. However, reading it as if you were again a child allows you into the charming magic of the story and its characters. It has transported me back to my childhood and the feelings of wonder I experienced then.
