Filmed inside his secluded suburban house, Fernando Higueras’ Cave, unites two heartfelt testimonies to the late Spanish architect and his unique subterranean residence.
Higueras’ photographer and life companion, Lola Botia, appears on film for the very first time to reflect on the magic of her home and its creator. Joining her is Professor Josemaria Churtichaga who, as a student of Higueras’ whimsically-designed primary school, grew up to become his disciple, collaborator, and a renowned architect in his own right.
Sitting beneath the skylights, the pair illuminate Higueras’ enduring humanity with a poignant glimpse into a life lived underground.
