Publisher Description
When Nick Spalding self-published Love... From Both Sides and Love... And Sleepless Nights he became one of the bestselling ebook authors of 2012. Now for the first time the Love... books are being published in a longer format with more of the love story, more of Laura and Jamie's ups and downs and more of the laugh-out-loud hilarious moments that fans have come to know and love. Sometimes, the hardest part of becoming a parent is keeping a straight face... Just ask Jamie and Laura Newman, who (thanks to a rather relaxed attitude to contraception) find themselves about to have a baby. It's obviously a terrifying prospect for a newly married couple, but as long as they stick together they'll be just fine... right? They'd better because the path between falling in love and those first few baby steps is littered with obstacles. Featuring a hilarious cast of characters including an overbearing mother-in-law, a terrifying midwife and at least one chorus of mating humpback whales, Love... And Sleepless Nights is the hilarious follow up novel all about what happens beyond the happy ever after.
Falling in love with another person is easy, making a new one is where things get complicated.

260 pages of pure laughter, read love from both sides before this one though!
You will not be disappointed!
Left feeling disappointed
I'm not a book critic or anything, in fact I'm a 20 year old expectant mother with nothing better to do than lay down with books waiting for our angel to pop out. At least, I hope he just pops out.
I decided to read this book because of 'love... from both sides' which I found absolutely hilarious, refreshing, romantic and a good read overall. I thought it can only get better right? Wrong :( Some of the things I didn't like in this book: The tone of conversation between Laura and Jamie. Too fictional, sounds like it's being written by someone who's never been in a relationship, Laura's character suddenly changed into a this aggressive women overcome by sarcasm who never has anything remotely normal to say and always replies with pointless wit or humour. I call it humour but it was never actually funny. It's not how a usual human being interacts, at least not 100% of the time. So I was put off Laura's character because I couldn't connect to this humour robot.
This was only made worse after she physically abused her husband for a minute mistake. It was angry wife being funny hitting boyfriend scene. Not funny. If the roles were reversed and the exact same violence and humour had been used, but Jamie was the one slapping Laura I feel the author would have suddenly become a celebrity for openly accepting domestic abuse and making a joke of it.
The next thing that literally made me roll my eyes every time I came across it was the almost constant mention of previous events from the past book where they met. 'Love...from both sides' Usually brought up by one of them talking to or about the other, like since then nothing else has happened and this is the only part of their lives worth mentioning or using for already used humour. I assumed this was done for those who had not yet read the first one, maybe to keep them up to date or to entice them, but I feel it drowned those who have read and enjoyed he first one to the point they wish it had now never been written.
Then there were the typos, which personally I couldn't give two about but it may bother some people who go to read this. Example: A certain very important character was at one point referred to as 'he's' instead of 'shes.' But again, this didn't actually bother me. The books are practically free so whatever :)
There were two really funny good well written scenes that I thought were amazing, but overall I'm feeling disappointed. Worth getting in my eyes though regardless as it is an easy to read book that passes the time and gives you something to moan about after :)
I'm very grateful to the author for writing it and sharing these books regardless of what I think. It can't be easy!
