Rafael Sabatini (1875 – 1950) was a famous Italian and English writer of novels of romance and adventure best known for his worldwide best-sellers as The Sea Hawk (1915), Scaramouche (1921) and Captain Blood (1922). Several of his novels were adapted into films during the silent era and the first three of these books were made into notable films in the sound era, in 1940, 1952, and 1935 respectively.

“Love-at-Arms” is a super adventure novel from a master story teller which is a really fun and enjoyable early book. In the centre of the novel strong male hero in Francesco, the Count of Aquila, and a bold, headstrong female heroine in Valentina. In fact the heroine is so headstrong that she successfully thwarts her uncle's plan to marry her off for a political alliance. Beautiful novel best suited for those who believe in right over wrong, good over evil and all that honor drival.
