From New York Times best selling author, Kelly Elliott, comes a new series her Wanted fans will adore. Filled with love, hope, and second chances, Love at First Sight, is book one in the Southern Brides series. Each book in this series will be stand alone books.
Love at first sight.
That's what it was when Rip Myers came up to me in kindergarten. From that point on, we were inseparable best friends.
When I work up the courage to tell Rip I love him, I am met with rejection. He tells me he treasures our friendship too much. That statement might as well be a knife to my heart.
I want to hold out hope that he'll change his mind.
Instead, he moves on.
The only choice I have is to pretend that doesn't slay me.
So, I say yes…to the man I love. But he isn't the man I've been in love with nearly my entire life.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Fans of bestselling author Kelly Elliott’s Cowboys and Angels novels will be pleased to see Chloe Parker, a child from Elliot's 2017 novel Lost Love, return to lead the first romance in her heartbreaking Southern Bride series. Here, we meet Chloe in Texas Hill Country as she's on the brink of marriage. But, as her boyfriend of ten months proposes, she can’t help thinking about her first love and high school best friend, Rip Myers. What follows is a sweet and moving romance with just the perfect dash of drama. As Rip and Chloe re-evaluate their “friendship”, Elliott has us swooning over Rip’s Southern gentleman’s charm as we long for him to realise that Chloe is the love of his life. Love at First Sight is a perfect escapist romance that might just leave you wishing it wasn’t fiction.

Well written but boring and predictable storyline
A Classic Elliott Love Story (with such fun antics!)
If you’re a Kelly Elliott reader already, like myself, your probably super excited about this book - especially as it takes you back into the Parker family’s lives.
But whether you are a fan of Elliott already or not, all you got to have to enjoy this book is a fondness for romance. Set in the country life of Texas, this story has all the swoon worthy, ranch loving, fun family antics you could ask for.
Take the rollercoaster of emotions as Chloe Parker makes one of the biggest decisions of her life, and then deals with the after effects called life. It’s something some may have experienced personally or just understand how one decision impacts another. But nothing stops the heart wanting what it wants.
I love the fact this story makes you feel like your in the world of the Parkers. You laugh at the lovable antics the family get up to and cry when the characters feel like their worlds are turned upside down.
Without giving any spoilers, this book has it all. Read it as a stand-alone or start with the previous series (Cowboys & Angels Series - Lost Love is Book 1). But this is the start of a whole new series that I can’t wait to read the rest of the books.
Love, laugh and enjoy 💞
Love At First Sight? - Most certainly!
‘Love At First Sight’ is the first standalone book in Kelly Elliott’s new Southern Brides Series, with ‘Delicate Promises’, book two, set to follow later this year. I think what captured a lot of us in to this book at first, is the cover itself. Sleek and elegant, it promised a story of the like within. It was quite simply, love at first sight.
In sneak peaks and excerpts shared by Kelly, including the summary, Love At First Sight is set to follow the story of Chloe Parker, daughter of Steed Parker (Read ‘Lost Love’, part of the Cowboys & Angels series, for Steed & Paxton’s story), and her apparent wedding to Easton. Not Rip, the boy she’s been infatuated with since she was a mere child.
It is clear that Chloe has a choice to make, not only on which man she is destined to be with, but weather she is brave enough to fight for the right man, her life in Oak Springs and the only life she’s ever known and dreamed of being a part of.
Chloe Parker is ever much her father’s daughter, both being a straight-shooter when she wants to be, as well as being a typical ‘parker woman’, at other times. Seeing her introduced in ‘Lost Love’, and grow throughout the rest of the Cowboys & Angels series, it was only a matter of time before we fell in love with her all over again, as a young adult, here in Love At First Sight. We all have a bit of Chloe Parker inside all of us and as I did, I could identify and see myself having been in the character’s shoes on more than one occasion. Therefore, we can relate to her. A trait in many of Kelly’s books that makes me love her work even more.
Love At First sight promises many positive aspects right from the very first page. You’ll find it hard to put it down, as I myself did, as at the end of every chapter there is something gripping that will make you want to read ‘just one more chapter’, something many an author and reader alike can relate to. Additionally, you’ll find yourself on more than one occasion, screaming at the page for a certain hard-headed male to…well…you’ll see. It would also be advised to have a box of tissues handy, as if you like myself have read the Cowboys & Angels series, you will need them for this book but don’t forget, for every bad there is a good, and the good is one small, sweet hell of a good to make up for the sniffling. I promise.
In the end, Love At First sight is everything you could ever want and more from a Kelly Elliott novel. There a horse-ton of familial love, friendship and southern living, teamed with romantic interest, conflict and her own take on the ‘will they, won’t they’ book plot twist. No one book is the same from Kelly, even in the same series, and this is no different. There is something within these paper or digital pages for absolutely everyone to enjoy, and by the time you reach the end of the book, you’ll find yourself heading right on back to the beginning again to start the journey from scratch.
Please do note, if you haven’t read any of the Cowboys & Angels series in which Chloe and her family is first introduced, I would recommend you do so before reading Love At First Sight. Where the story isn’t complicated if you haven’t, it’s always a good thing to get a bit of background knowledge before jumping into this novel. ‘Lost Love’ is where we first meet Chloe and her father Steed Parker, with their adventures with the rest of the Parker bunch continuing on in the rest of the series.
Did I experience Love At First Sight with this book? I certainly did. Another fabulous five star read you simply wouldn’t want to miss out on.
