Daniel Mackenzie found, hidden in his mother’s wardrobe a signed photograph of a beautiful girl. His mother, Margo tells him that the girl, Françoise is his grandmother who was executed by the Gestapo in the last days of the war. She refuses to say more and Daniel begins to piece together his family history to discover that Françoise was a half English, half French student living in Paris when the Germans invaded France. She flees Paris and is recruited into the dangerous world of the Resistance.
