The first evening or night on-call for a newly qualified doctor is a daunting experience: in particular for those cross-covering the surgical specialties.
This Codex is a comprehensive aide-mémoire for doctors in their first weeks and months of training - facing the challenges of the acutely unwell surgical patient.
Developed by an academic UK foundation doctor, and with input from senior colleagues, the Codex covers 21 clinical scenarios covering the full range of general surgical and surgical sub-specialty presentations.
ABOUT THE CODEX PROJECT
The Codex project is a collaboration of academics who are re-defining academic textbooks. Each Codex is designed to answer a highly focused question and is about the length of one or two conventional textbook chapters - about 10 000 to 20 000 words.
