'Every human being should read this book' Simon Sinek
One of the outstanding classics to emerge from the Holocaust, Man's Search for Meaning is Viktor Frankl's story of his struggle for survival in Auschwitz and other Nazi concentration camps. Today, this remarkable tribute to hope offers us an avenue to finding greater meaning and purpose in our own lives.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
Arising from his own experiences as a prisoner in the Auschwitz concentration camp, revered Austrian psychiatrist Viktor E. Frankl’s classic maps out his ideas about love, resilience and fulfilment. “Being human always points, and is directed, to something or someone, other than oneself—be it a meaning to fulfill or another human being to encounter”, writes Frankl. This account of one man’s journey to find his life’s purpose in the midst of horrific suffering is as inspirational today as it was when it was first published in 1946.
Customer Reviews
Top read but gets too scientific towards the end.
Top read. The author describes how some concentration camp prisoners left the camp feeling entitled to harm and steal just because they have endured pain during their imprisonment. Reminds me of how Israel uses the holocaust to emotionally manipulate the world into thinking that committing genocide and colonising is fine because of their historical suffering.
Mastery Uncovered
Viktor E Frankl uncovers layers of one’s own behaviour when challenged to the human limit with an unrivalled knowledge of un-peeling of layers we never knew existed. To put it frankly, he has managed to dive to the depths of the ‘Mariana Trench’, breathe, withstand the pressure and live to share his findings. In this sometime harrowing account of life within a concentration camp Viktor E Frankl share invaluable knowledge key to our existence.
