MASLEN & MEHRA's Impermanent Collection comprises a series of photo-sculptures and documented temporary installations based on historical and contemporary objects found in museums across the globe. Multiple visits to the Victoria & Albert and British Museums, London; the Metropolitan Museum, New York; the Archaeological Museum, the Turkish and Islamic Art Museum, Istanbul; and the Asian Museum of Civilisation in Singapore have resulted in the study and documentation of particular objects. Historical, cultural, political, technological, environmental and scientific references, alongside themes of natural history, all inform this work.

Amazing artwork
The photography in this iBook is gorgeous and I really have a sense of seeing an exhibition as I view the iBook.
The video interview and audio files, especially when looking at the "plate sculptures" really helped me to understand what I was looking at and appreciate the artwork more than I would have otherwise.
A lot of samples either leave me feeling like I've seen enough or not caring if I see any more, but this one made me want to buy the book, and I wasn't disappointed when I viewed the whole thing!
I will definitely be following the work of Maslen and Mehra in the future, which they make easy to do with the links at the end of the book.
