Maui Companion

Maui Companion is first and foremost a travel guide for the island of Maui. It covers the Valley Isle, as well as the four smaller islands; Molokai, Lanai, Niihau and Kahoolawe. Come with the author on a road trip, around the entire island, stopping at all the major towns and villages, and pointing out in detail, over 170 points of interest and attractions as we go along. Directions to all attractions include an address, mile marker and specific instructions on how to get there. There are over 130 color pictures of the key attractions, plus any local tips to make each attraction more enjoyable.

The book will explore in depth, the natural wonders and attractions that uniquely define this island paradise. The Road to Hana, one of the five most dangerous drives in the world. Sunrise, like none other, over Haleakala, the worlds largest volcano. We will drive around the mountain’s backside to Upcountry where Hawaiian cowboys still ride the range. Visit towns and villages along the way and mega resorts on the south and west side of the island, with gorgeous white sand beaches and lush surrounding valleys with large cascading waterfalls. Along the way, we will stop at some of the best beaches in the world.

Find out the best way to get around. When to use public transportation, rent a car or a scooter, take a tour. Island hop on a regional airline or take a ferry to one of the smaller islands like Molokai or Lanai, for a day trip, where you can visit the world’s tallest sea cliffs at Kalaupapa, or see the incredibly unique Garden of the Gods (Keahiakawelo) on Lanai.
