Publisher Description
She came to the desert to heal… not to be claimed by it.
After her mother's death, Melinda escapes New York for the stark beauty of New Mexico, rebuilding her life as a veterinarian. Among injured animals and quiet horizons, she finds something unexpected, Ethan, a devoted wolf sanctuary caretaker whose warmth begins to mend her grief. Together, they create something fragile, rare… and worth fighting for.
Then Quincy arrives.
Ancient, merciless, and watching from the shadows, the vampire sets his sights on them both. When Melinda is forced into his dark world as one of his unwilling brides, love becomes a liability, and survival a brutal game.
But Melinda refuses to break.
Teaming up with another captive, she dares the impossible, destroy the monster who owns them. Yet freedom comes at a devastating cost, and a ruthless vampire council demands blood for betrayal.
Darkly romantic and relentlessly tense, Melinda is a story of love defying eternity, where even the damned dare to fight for a future.
"A haunting, passionate paranormal romance where love defies darkness, delivering suspense, heartbreak, and unforgettable characters. Highly recommended," The International Review of Books.
#1 From Reader's Favorite 5-Star review: Melinda by Eileen Sheehan is an interesting read that captured my imagination from the first chapter to the last. The writing is engaging and filled with well-developed dialogues, and I loved the well-developed characters that helped bring the story to life. The themes covered, like hope, change, and not giving up, will resonate with many readers. The plot flowed seamlessly, leaving no room for confusion, and Eileen ensured that all events and emotions were vividly described, which helped create a mental picture of what was happening. The amazing narration added to the overall beauty of the work. Readers will also appreciate the easy-to-understand language used, which makes the work accessible to all kinds of audiences. This was a good read, and I look forward to reading something else by Eileen Sheehan.
#2 From Reader's Favorite 5-star review: Melinda by Eileen Sheehan is an intoxicating paranormal romance story. Sheehan keeps the story moving at a brisk pace, mixing Melinda's and Ethan's everyday lives with chilling scenes that had me gripping the edge of my seat․ I thought I'd be able to put the book down, but the slow advance of Quincy's predation and the looming threat of vampire politics kept me hooked. Melinda and Ethan's bond grows inextricably through shared tasks and late-night wolf rescues, as figures like Aunt Betsy and Michael provide emotional support, and Charlotte later adds to the alliance in subtle ways. When supernatural horror strikes, the gradual decline in their health, along with the stress from their adversaries, had me fixated on their story. Sheehan blends romance, danger, and suspense with a small but captivating cast, and I couldn't stop reading to see how everyone would play their part․ Paranormal romance fans will love this one.
