IS IT POSSIBLE FOR A MEMORY TO OUTLIVE ITS OWNER?
Ophelia Browne knows the answer is yes. She knows because she’s been granted the unique gift of finding and caring for those forgotten memories. But now she’s nearing ninety, and Browne women seldom live beyond ninety. Before time runs out Ophelia must find her successor. Someone who can take hold of the gifts and keep the memories from fading.
When broken-hearted Annie Cross shows up on the doorstep of The Memory House Bed and Breakfast, Ophelia knows she is the one. The two women forge a bond of friendship as they sip magical dandelion tea and share stories. When Annie starts to sense the memories Ophelia is delighted, but then a thread of violence begins to unravel and Ophelia fears things have gone too far.
APPLE BOOKS REVIEW
The characters in Memory House captivated us. Elderly, feisty Olivia runs an apothecary and B&B—and she has a gift for “feeling” memories attached to everyday objects. Annie is heartbroken and disillusioned by her city job. When Annie stumbles across Memory House during a road trip, both women’s lives are transformed. We were charmed by this story and intrigued by Olivia’s memory objects, each of which features in another of Bette Lee Crosby’s heartwarming novels about heartache, friendship and love.

Memory house
I love reading but while sitting in a bookshop found iBooks (free download) not thinking I would like a book without paper! once I had started could not put it down.
I loved the idea of an old lady with such a rewarding life have never heard of the author, as I don't read many American authors, but will read some of the other titles now to see how I get on.
Can now return to the other 3 books I am reading
Thank you for the pleasure of reading about friendship

Brilliant Idea
The idea behind the novel is brilliant but it lacks depth. The main characters are two-dimensional and Michael ends up doing two about faces - once when he goes all spurned lover angry and then again when he drops all of the anger out of the blue and slinks away with his tail between his legs. Too fast to be believable. Annie's emotions don't come across as anything genuine you'd feel in those situations and Ophelia doesn't connect with the reader. It's almost as if you're just skimming the book, not getting deep in it and losing yourself. The ending is a lovely idea but ridiculously rushed - the author could have spent another half a book on character development and introducing these new ideas and situations but instead washes her hands of it within a couple of chapters. Full of promise but ultimately disappointing.
