Kara Marcus is desperate to forget the past and move on. But she can’t escape her choices—especially when she finds herself falling in love…
Since the first day she stepped into her childhood Southern Baptist church, two truths have been engrained in Kara Marcus’s head: sex before marriage is bad and murder is a sin. And that’s why Kara can never forgive herself for what she did at the age of sixteen.
Now, as second semester of freshman year comes to a close, Kara has stood by her high school boyfriend, Ethan. But as they seem to grow further and further apart every day, Kara realizes that she has feelings for someone else: Ethan’s roommate Colt.
Suddenly, Kara’s clear-cut world shifts out of focus, and she’s torn between what her head tells her is right and what her heart is desperately pushing her to do—even if it means committing another undeniable sin...

Miles from Kara Review on K-Books
Miles from Kara is one of those books that I literally could not wait to read. Ever since reading Melissa West's YA Sci-Fi series, The Taking, I have fallen absolutely head over heels in love with her books. I absolutely adored Pieces of Olivia and when I heard she was writing Kara's story I was so freaking excited. I couldn't wait to get my hands on it and it 100% did not disappoint. Melissa met all of my expectations and more.
Kara has been trying to forget her past for a long time. Living in a different place helps, but it also means she is apart from her Highschool Sweetheart Ethan. But as she and Ethan grow further and further apart, she and his housemate, Colt grow closer. As sparks continue to fly between Kara and Colt, can she put all of her past behind her and look to her future? And just which boy will be a part of that future?
Miles from Kara is absolutely phenomenal. Once again Melissa West drew me in with her absolutely stunning narratives and I couldn't put the book down. One think Melissa is amazing at is her characterisation. She writes this amazing characters that you completely identify with and fall absolutely head over heels in love with. The characters in this book were no different. I cared about them so much I genuinelly read this book in one sitting as I just needed to know what was going to happen to them. I adored them so much.
Kara is one of those characters that you just love. She is quirky and fun and just so identifiable. I really believe that every person who reads this book will identify with her, sympathise with her and really just want her to be their best friend. She is really that awesome!
The boys of this book are what makes it absolutely great. We had already met Ethan very briefly in Pieces of Olivia and even then I wasn't the biggest fan of his. He came off really douchy. Well that doesn't change and the more I read of him the more I just didn't really like him and thought he just needed to do one. Colt on the other hand is everything any girl could possibly want. He is sweet, caring, protective and smexy! I absolutely loved Colt. He is officially my favourite Melissa West boy. He is just utter perfection!
Miles from Kara was just utterly phenomenal. I could not put the book down from the moment I started it to the moment I finished it. I fell in love with Melissa's NA Contemporary novels from the moment I read Pieces of Olivia and let me just tell you the more she writes them the better she gets at writing them. Miles from Kara completely blew the others out of the water. It was perfect! It had everything you could possibly want in a NA novel. Smart and funny heroine, smexy guy, romance, drama and steaming hot chemistry between the characters.
Melissa West is definitely one of my favourite authors of all time and no matter what she writes, what it is about I will buy it and read it purely because it has her name on the cover. She is absolutely phenomenal. If you haven't read anything by her I highly suggest that you do. Everything she writes is just amazing. Miles from Kara was no different. If you are looking for a book that is smart, funny, emotional and sexy then this series is for you. Go read it now!
