This is the life of a part-time organist--her dedication to God and to the job. It tells her beginning in piano and continues with fascinating anecdotes, incidents, and people she encountered as an organist through 60-plus years in the profession.

There are poignant moments as well as many laughs as she relates victories, joys, some sorrows, and even mistakes.

Minding My Keys and Pews pulls back the curtain and gives the reader a glimpse beyond an anonymous automaton behind the keyboard to the real person who serves in the role of organist.


Joanna Adicks Wallace began the study of piano at age six and organ at age nineteen. She is a professional organist who plays for churches, light opera, graduations and other community events. She and her husband Hugh live in Orlando, FL. They have four children, fourteen grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren.
