Monkey Makes Havoc in Heaven”is a famous episode from Journey to the West, one of China’s classical novels. Monkey is powerful as to endanger the government by the heaven, so the Jade Emperor tries to confine him by granting him the title of a low official in the heaven. On knowing the truth, Monkey returns to his Mountain of Flowers and Fruit. The Jade Emperor has no choice but to accept him as the Great Sage Equalling Heaven, and puts him in charge of the peach garden in the heaven. Monkey then eats the peaches and immortal pills, and drinks the celestial wines. The Jade Emperor is angry and captures him. Monkey fights back but is defeated and sent to the alchemy furnace. However, he is not burned to death. He jumps out and continues to fight against the Jade Emperor.

《大闹天宫》是中国古典小说《西游记》中最著名的章节之一。说的是玉帝欲将威力非凡的孙悟空拘管在天上,于是骗他到天宫做了管马的小官。悟空知道真相后,一怒返回了花果山。玉帝不得以封他为“齐天大圣”,命他在天宫掌管蟠桃园。一日,悟空偷吃了蟠桃、仙酒和金丹。玉帝暴怒,下令捉拿悟空。悟空力战众神,后遭暗算被送进炼丹炉,结果悟空并未烧死,他跳出炼丹炉,打得玉帝狼狈逃窜。
