Neglect

One simple change of mind at a party when he’s eighteen takes Gabriel into a completely new future. Despite his best efforts though, he still can’t seem to get the hang of the ‘Real World’. Instead he finds himself drifting in and out of hostels, squats and hippy festivals - frustrated, pitied and despised until ultimately he finds some contentment living out his final years with his dog in a shed in his parents’ old back garden, growing vegetables and keeping chickens. But once again, it’s not the end. The afterlife seems easy by comparison. You can’t starve or die of cold - you’re already dead. Whatever they do to you, you won’t die. Anything.
