Monica Murphy describes this novel as “unconventional”—not surprising, given she wrote much of it while listening to the song of the same name by the Australian band INXS. This first instalment in a two-part plot is also edgy, high wire–tense and steamy, blending all the best parts of mystery and romance. The two central characters, whose lives have been shattered by a kidnapping, draw us into their complex, emotional worlds, ultimately leaving us on a cliffhanger that points straight to the sequel.

Apart from the fact that this book is BRILLIANT, I don't know what it was that seemed to draw me in. People always talk about a page turner and for me, this was that book. I literally read at every opportunity I got. This is one of my top 3 books I've ever read 😊 and I can't wait to sit down tonight and start the next. Amazing and i can assure you it will not disappoint 👍🏻👏🏻📖⭐️
