New Carpet

In "New Carpet," Cunningham gives us the portrait of a struggling young couple on the hunt for an affordable place to live. A cheery handyman shows them a vacant, ramshackle duplex with a tragic past. Filled with heartbreak and quiet perseverance, it's an atmospheric meditation on cruel commerce, death, and what remains after life hasn't gone as planned.

A strange freak improvising upon an old IBM typewriter, Cunningham prefers leathery Bordeaux wines, mid-sixties Miles Davis and sleeping past noon whenever possible. He's been published widely in the small and large presses, in print and online.

Cunningham lives with his girlfriend of twenty years and their two dogs on a small farm outside of Asheville, NC.
