Nightmare in Central Park

Poetry Book About the Central Park Five

Publisher Description

This book is a social justice poetry book about the Central Park Five. Innocence was taken away from five teenage boys as they were charged and prosecuted for the rape and beating of Trisha Meili in April of 1989. Forced confessions has been accused of the New York Police Department in exchange for freedom, however those allegations have been denied. Years after the five boys served their full sentences, Matias Reyes admitted to actually committing the crime ALONE. His DNA turned out to be a perfect match and the sentences of the five boys, now men, were vacated and they were later compensated. The poems in this book are merely the author’s personal opinion and though actual evidence and quotes were used, the poems by no means reflect the true feelings of any of the individuals involved in this incident.
