No Charge for Murder
Fascinating Mystery
This is the first Murder Mystery book from Sloane McClain and it does not disappoint. It centres around a young girl called Peri, who arranges to meet a friend in a hotel room, but finds a body instead. When the body disappears and ends up on the kitchen floor of the boarding house she runs, things start to go from bad to worse, especially when after a blow to the head, Peri, suddenly begins to see the ghost of the dead person.
The mystery is set in South Carolina, and Ms McClain’s unique descriptions draw you in from the start. Her characters are vibrant and real, which is what makes this book so enjoyable.
Ms McClain has now mastered the art of subterfuge, and intrigue within this novel. She shows us what a real talent she holds in that she can swap genres and still come up with an amazing story. It held my imagination till the last page, so if you are looking for a murder mystery with a difference, I would highly recommend it.
