Oasis
Publisher Description
A new dystopian/post-apocalyptic series from a New York Times bestselling author
My name is Theo, and I'm a resident of Oasis, the last habitable area on Earth. It's meant to be a paradise, a place where we are all content. Vulgarity, violence, insanity, and other ills are but a distant memory, and even death no longer plagues us.
I was once content too, but now I'm different. Now I hear a voice in my head, and she tells me things no imaginary friend should know. Her name is Phoe, and she is my delusion.
Or is she?

Customer Reviews
Childish plot, childishly written.
I’m generally not one to criticise too heavily but I can’t recommend this book. The best thing is the front cover.
I finished reading it because I started, despite not really truly being drawn in at the beginning.
It felt like it wasn’t written by a mature author or it was aimed at kids. Many of the potentially interesting issues it could have dealt with were simplistically brushed aside and there was a lot of very basic language. Vocabulary wasn’t particularly rich and yet still there were too many adjectives, often not really appropriate for the scenario or, indeed, even necessary.
Far too many tired tropes and no real feeling of peril, knowing the protagonist would inevitably survive whatever repetitive, implausible situation they were thrust into.
There was very little character development, I cared so little for any of them I’d not have been bothered if they had all been wiped out at the end.
Sorry, not for me, rather a waste of time, I’m glad it didn’t cost me anything.
