Finn and Kaz are about to meet for the first time.
Ten-year-old Finn, a quirky, sensitive boy who talks a lot and only eats at cafes with a 5-star hygiene rating, is having a tough time at school and home.
Outspoken Kaz, 59, who has an acerbic sense of humour and a heart of gold, is working at the café when Finn and his mum come in.
They don't know it yet, but the second time they meet will be a moment which changes both of their lives forever . . .

Customer Reviews
Beautifully written, honest & moving
This one is going to stick in my mind for a long time. I kept thinking about the characters in-between reading. The problems of bullying and lack of support for vulnerable people, both in schools and in wider society, are explored with honesty. It made me sad and angry and its rays of light among the dark bits touched me.
20/10!!!!!
Fantastic I could not put this book down
Heartwrenching
This was a sad, funny, moving story - of the suffering of those who are “different” in our society. It was beautiful in places, cruel and hard to read in others. An incredibly impactive story that will stay with me for a long time.
