Publisher Description
A swoony, small town romance from USA Today Bestselling Author J.H. Croix!
How we met: I got a black eye.
Where we met: At a wedding.
Our first date: We’re not dating. Cross my heart.
True story: Jack Hamilton gave me a black eye when we met. He didn’t throw a punch, but he did open a door right into my face. On the same day I was a bridesmaid in my brother’s wedding.
My head spun when I took a good look at him. Maybe it was running full-force into a door, but maybe it’s because he’s melt-your-panties H-O-T. Oh, and he’s a hotshot firefighter.
But I don’t date, and I don’t ever intend to fall in love. It’s all so simple. Until the chemistry that’s hot enough to melt me nearly does. Maybe Jack can help with that, what with the whole firefighting thing.
No one warned me that a good man could make me forget all the reasons why love is a bad idea.
Jack & McKenna’s story is perfect for readers who love: hotshot firefighters, emphasis on H-O-T, slow burn, he falls first, billionaire heroine, small town gossip, emotional romance with a dash of angst, oodles of swoon, and a cinnamon roll hero with a protective streak who will do anything to take care of the woman he’s falling for.
*A full-length, standalone romance.

Absolutely Amazing Read
This is book four in The Fireweed Harbor series and it is Jack and McKenna’s story. McKenna had learned the hard way that when your family have money and status people will want to be with you or get to know you for all the wrong reasons and that is why she didn’t trust easily and had scars from a previous relationship so that is why she was always wary of people, relationships and always think that there is a agenda so she decided that she didn’t want or need a relationship and was quite happy with her life exactly how it is. Jack is a hotshot firefighter and being transferred to Fireweed Harbor and while at his friends wedding he met McKenna only things didn’t start off well because he opened a door and hit her with it causing hertz have a black eye and kept repeating how sorry he was. When McKenna jokingly said that her and Jack should go on a date he agreed not realising that she was joking but he definitely wanted to take her out but with Mckena’s uncertainty, doubt and suffering from panic attacks since she was younger she didn’t think that anyone would ever want her for herself without gaining something so she just walked away. Jack didn’t want a relationship after his engagement fell apart and because he had so much going on as his brother was dying of cancer and was always on his mind and with moving as well Jack was getting ready to move into his house and his brother was coming to stay with him so he needed to concentrate on that which left no time for anything else. When Jack and McKenna see each other again that couldn’t deny their attraction and explosive chemistry so because neither wanted a relationship or children they ended up as friends with benefits which suited them both but what happens when feelings start to be involved which neither expected to happen because they were only casual but sometimes love strikes when you least expect it but it is unable to be denied well that is the situation that Jack and McKenna found themselves in but will they communicate and see where it goes or will they walk away and miss out on something special. I absolutely loved this book and I it was a real page turner that I couldn’t put down and I can’t wait to read more books in this amazing series.
