Publisher Description
From the author of Every Little Kiss, a heartwarming novel that proves sometimes the only way to let people in is to let go....
Moving to Harvest Cove has been like a dream come true for Zoe Watson, providing her with a job she loves and close friends she considers practically family. The only problem: a certain prickly—albeit handsome—park ranger who can’t seem to help tracking mud into her art gallery…or showing up in her dreams.
Jason Evans swore off relationships the day his ex-wife walked out the door, and the local gallery owner is no exception. But when an accident forces him to accept the one thing he hates most in the world—help—he discovers that with Zoe in his life, there are more highs than lows. Despite their long-simmering attraction, neither Jason nor Zoe thinks that two people with so little in common could possibly have a future together. But one of these nights, they may just discover how alike they are.…
PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Castle's third Harvest Cove contemporary (after Every Little Kiss), set in a fictional New England town, feels a little contrived, but series fans who have been rooting for these two characters to finally hook up will be happy. Park ranger Jason Evans suffers a broken leg while rescuing an abandoned dog. Art gallery owner Zoe Watson decides to show Jason that despite three years of mutual pseudo-antagonism she holds no malice against him. But when she shows up on his doorstep, the distraught park ranger asks her to be a shield against his overbearing mother. He figures, wrongly, that if his mother believes Zoe is his girlfriend and will take care of him, then she will cut her visit short. What harm can come from a bit of playacting? Unfortunately, the character development relies heavily on being familiar with these two from previous series installments, so newcomers might feel a bit perplexed. All the same, even first-timers can appreciate Castle's skill with clever setups and good, clean, romantic fun.
