Publisher Description
Boy meets girl, boy wins girl, boy nails girl -- boy's gone by morning.
I think for sure it must've been a dream because there's no way a guy could look like that, touch me like that and be so in tune with me, then just disappear leaving me with nothing but a good story to tell my friends.
When he walks into my bar three months later, everything I thought I knew and what we'd had disappears in the blink of an eye and the blinding light of the three-carat diamond on his fiancée's hand.
It seems what I thought was a dream is now my most complicated reality, and I've got absolutely no idea how to fix it.
Or if I even want to.

It's no secret that I'm a big fan of BJ Harvey, I love how addictive her writing is, how she finds the perfect balance between writing the sexy contemporary romantic comedies but still having them explore aspects of our society- grief, victim blaming, slut shaming, family dynamics, etc.
But One Shot is in a whole other league for me. I was incredibly fortunate to both get to beta read this book and get to read it as an ARC and wow, there's a 0.001% chance I'm bias but woooooow. This book was such an angst fest that I was crying, ready cut the b***h that is Lana, and also having to watch copious amounts of My Little Pony to lighten my soul back up from the level of angst. I'm talking Jay McLean levels of angst here people!
BJ effortlessly explores how the road to love and happiness is not an easy one, sometimes it has obstacles blocking your path so high you feel like you can never overcome them. But in the end, no matter what the end result is, no matter how much time you get with the people you love, it's always worth it.
Everything about this book is a major change of pace for BJ, the developing relationship much more subtle than her iconic Mak and Superman, but equally as powerful and beautiful. I truly am in awe of her talent, and ability to create utterly unique, never before seen characters that are so well developed they feel real. This is one of those reads that will make you feel every emotion with the characters, you'll follow every heartbreak and healing and fall in love right along with them and to me that's the mark of an amazing novel.
I can't wait for Gaby's book! #WriteBJWrite
