Publisher Description
Welcome to Physics Notes: Medical Physics, I’m the author Daniel Wilson. This book is an introduction to the fascinating world of medical physics. It covers the important diagnostic techniques used in radiology departments across the world. X-ray production, X-ray imaging, CT scans, ultrasound production, ultrasound A and B scans, Doppler scans, radionuclide imaging, the Gamma Camera, medical tracers, PET scans, and magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) are all covered in detail. A linked glossary of terms is included at the end.
Each chapter has high quality diagrams and at least one example question to provide additional context to some of the key concepts and equations. The content is tailored to those getting started with medical imaging concepts. Familiarity with some fundamental physics knowledge is assumed (e.g. rearranging equations, photon energy calculations, radioactive decay).

So detailed and helpful
This book has given a great overview, and relevant examples, of the application of physics in the world of medicine. Highly recommended
Physics Notes - Medical Physics
A refreshingly straightforward approach to explaining the fascinating physics behind the medical processes that most people take for granted. Clearly written with easily followed diagrams and probably quite accessible to non-specialist physicists. Nevertheless, the scientific processes and explanatory formulae are detailed and there are exercises at the end of each section to check the reader’s grasp of important Laws and principles. I highly recommend this book to any aspiring Physics student especially any with an eye on any kind of medical career. Additionally, for general Physics, the book is a good example of why it is important to understand the fundamentals because here one can see the science that leads to vital technological progress.
Excellent introduction to medical physics
I found this textbook to be an excellent introduction to the concepts I need for radiology. The detailed diagrams and illustrations were a really big help. Amazing value.
