Poet Anderson...Of Nightmares is a thrilling, edge of your seat story written by award-winning musician, producer and director Tom DeLonge and New York Times bestselling author Suzanne Young.
Poet Anderson...Of Nightmares follows the epic journey of two orphan brothers Jonas and his older brother Alan who are Lucid Dreamers. After a car accident lands Alan in a coma, Jonas sets out into the Dream World in an attempt to find his brother and wake him up. What he discovers instead is an entire shared consciousness where fear comes to life as a snarling beast called a Night Terror, and a creature named REM is bent on destruction and misery, devouring the souls of the strongest dreamers. With the help of a Dream Walker—a guardian of the dreamscape, Jonas must face his fears, save his brother, and become who he was always meant to be: Poet Anderson.

PUBLISHERS WEEKLY
Former Blink-182 lead vocalist DeLonge teams up with Young (The Remedy) for a trilogy opener in which factions battle for control of the Dream and Waking worlds. In his everyday life, Jonas Anderson is dealing with the aftermath of a car accident that left his brother in a coma; in another world, he's Poet Anderson, a "Lucid Dreamer" capable of controlling the dream state around him and caught in a struggle between the Dream Walkers, who act as guardians, and the Night Stalkers, soulless tools of the malevolent REM. As this first book unfolds, Poet works to master his abilities, understand the scope of the brewing war, and attempt to save his brother's life. The ambitious story is filled with well-worn tropes, and the core romance happens with the speed of dream logic. The stylistic visuals, which work well in a tie-in animated short film, Poet Anderson: The Dream Walker, lack the same impact on the page. The storytelling is solid, and the setting is intriguing, but the novel suffers from thin character development and overfamiliar elements. Ages 12 up.

This fast paced science fiction adventure will not disappoint
As something of a reluctant reader I was unsure if ...Of Nightmares would succeed where so many other fiction books have failed. I was unsure if it would hold my attention or capture my imagination. This novel completely surpassed my expectations and has made me fall in love with reading all over again! After reading just the first few chapters I was truly lost in the dreamworld created by Blink 182/Angels and Airwaves co-founder Tom Delonge and New York Times best selling author Suzanne Young.
...Of Nightmares tells the story of orphan brothers Jonas and Alan Anderson. Following the loss of both of their parents the Anderson boys leave their home in search of a fresh start. However their hope and optimism is short lived when a car accident leaves Jonas' brother Alan in a life threatening coma. Desperate to save Alan, lucid dreamer Jonas (Poet) Anderson must quickly master his abilities in the dreamworld – Genisis to find his brother and wake him from him up.
This fast paced science fiction adventure will not disappoint. … Of Nightmares is a great first step into the Poet Anderson trans-media universe of music, comics and even an award winning animated short film!
A sci-fi story full of action and heart - a great story for any young adult
…Of Nightmares is the first in a planned trilogy of books that will tell the story of Jonas Anderson, who becomes what is known as a Poet, and his journey through the Dream World where he must face his fears and overcome them in order to save his loved ones.
This book has everything any young adult would want. For the boys (and their dads too), there’s plenty of action set in a highly stylised world that resembles the classics suc has Blade Runner and Tron (look out for those gravity bikes!). For the girls, there’s a budding romance between the two leads in this tale.
The story itself is very engaging, obviously there is some exposition in terms of explaining the rules of this universe but that’s to be expected. The only downside is that I found the swearing was a little excessive.
I would definitely recommend to anyone that they should give this book a chance!
