Publisher Description
“McCormack’s rhymes are as engaging as those of Julia Donaldson’s The Gruffalo. PONG! is a must-read. A children’s classic in the making.”
-The Press Association
Because of that slippery ice covered lake,
Jake saw the Pong and the Pong saw Jake.
Pong had four legs and a long trunk nose.
He had only 8 fingers but 100 toes.
He had a round tummy full of asteroid pies,
and was studying Jake with moon-sized eyes.
THE STORY: Pong is the biggest, fastest thing in the Universe. He loves to race, and always wins. At least that was the case, until he slips on Neptune's frozen lakes and comes face to face Jake. Can Jake outsmart Pong to win some magic Moon dust?
LINK LEARNING: PONG! is an ideal way to introduce a topic on Space and the planets. It features links to further information about planets, hands on activities, talking points, and review questions that test comprehension.

Fab!
Our five-year-old daughter loved this ebook - a great rhyming story with lots of colourful illustrations. It has audio so it'll even read the story to you if you want! Very clever indeed. An absolute bargain - I'd definitely recommend this.
Great fun
Pong rules! My eight year old thought this was great. He read it aloud first and then listened to the audio version. He also really enjoyed learning about the planets at the end. I told him that there were other Pong books on their way and his eyes lit up. McCormack is the new Donaldson.
Very rich content
This is a great little story presented and packaged with great imagination. You can either flick through the story a page at a time reading it in the traditional way. You can have the supplied recording read page per page or sit back and listen and watch the whole thing. The illustrations are excellent and very often brought a smile to this grown up face. The supplied VoiceOver is well done and is timed in the movie version very well. A great combination with the entertaining illustrations and will bring a laugh or two through the story. There is an additional educational element which I thought was very well done. Allowing the reader to learn about planets and space travel. This learning is interactive and very engaging.
All in all I recommend this as great entertainment that offers many opportunities to come back to the same story and enjoy it in different and educational ways. Which also makes this incredible value for money.
