Loved everything about it.
Bukowski's writing is frugal and fantastic. Blunt and honest and full of passion. Not as good as Ham on Rye I felt but still very much worth a read to find out the kind of man that the whirling dervish of a boy had turned into.

An extraordinary writer who writes about life. A hard, raw life steeped in humour and compassion. This is just one of numerous books by Mr Bukowski which deserves great applause. Very few writes have the ability to lay bare the grittiness of life in such a direct manner. If you have never read a Bukowski book, start with "Ham on Rye" and you'll be hooked enough to follow up with this and others of his books.
