For decades, the Minoans of Prime Trace thought they knew the geometry of the alternate realities that surrounded their world. They believed themselves utterly superior, masters of technology and arbiters of justice and morality.

When a team of Minoan operatives are given the freedom to explore the true depths of reality, they discover a different geometry of alternate realities and open up what may prove to be an infinite number of alternates.

Deciding to send Jate Goldmet and his team of Portal Adepts into a recently discovered alternate seems, at first, a prudent and potentially profitable move. When that alternative turns out to be something very different from what the masters of Prime Trace expect, Goldmet and his team find themselves in a chaotic world that tricks all their five senses and leave them weaponless and besieged by well-armed opponents. Faced with almost certain death, Jate and his team must depend on their wits and loyalty to each other as they try to escape a fate none of them deserve.
