HYDERABAD -- Sindh Chief Minister Syed Qaim Ali Shah has hinted a 50 percent cut in Rs 115 billion development budget of the province with the objective to utilise maximum amount for the rehabilitation of flood affected people. According to policy, out of total required amount, 50 percent would be arranged by Sindh Government while remaining fifty percent amount would be provided by the federal government for the rehabilitation of flood affected people. A huge amount is required for the purpose, therefore the provincial government has decided to make a fifty percent cut in its development budget, he said while addressing a news conference here at the Circuit House on Saturday (Saturday) night. Syed Qaim Ali Shah who is also President Pakistan Peoples Party Sindh addressed the newsmen after presiding over PPP Sindh Council meeting held at the residence of Sindh Minister Syed Ali Nawaz Shah Rizvi. He said that a detailed deliberation was held in the meeting, where the council members were informed about the measures being taken by the federal and province governments as well as donor agencies and non-government organisations for the relief and rehabilitation of flood affected people.
