Quo Vadis Codis Maximus?
By Doug Vermeulen
This book shows how to always find a center or hub in our lives to revolve around; no matter how scattered our lives may become.
We have to have implanted in us the highest spiritual truths, in order for these truths to become productive, and for us to have the weeds of unproductive beliefs cleared out.
We only have to look at what happens when mercury is made. When the red dust mercuric oxide is heated, the result is a real mess before the lumps of beautiful mercury start forming into globules, subsequently coming together to form a pool of mercury.
So the constant affirming of the highest truths available at every level of life establishes a fertile field for the play and display of life. “Before ye call I shall answer.” So we give thanks that we have already received, because we can only receive what we receive in the manner that we see ourselves as receiving.
The Chambers 20th Century Dictionary defines belief as “Persuasion of the truth of anything” and therein lies the clue to the other side of our behavior patterns – which are a combination of our basic needs and our basic beliefs.
We can be persuaded of the truth of anything, without the reality actually according with our belief. There are all sorts of ways we can be persuaded: -
Verbally
Our own (mis)perceptions and (mis)understandings.
Circumstantial evidence
The opinions and actions of others
Our own desires creating fantasies.
Our desires searching for fulfillment
and so on.
It is a verifiable fact that whatever we focus on, or whatever we give our attention to, we come to believe in it. Continued focusing and attention reinforce the belief; because edited by our basic needs, we look for supportive facts, while ignoring aspects that maybe do not seem useful to our purpose.
The next cycle then appears whereby we become deeply convinced about what we come to believe in – because that is what we would like to believe.
We then start to prepare for and expect activity based on our deeply convinced belief. Because we have adopted and accepted the reality for ourselves, we identify with it, and in our thinking and feeling it becomes the only reality, because we have made it so – we want it so.
The Codis Maximus offers an ordered and useful way of dealing with what is a perfectly natural sequence – a learning mechanism. We can be in a master position, rather than a slave position, by seeking in each area of the hierarchy of needs an ever higher, more useful, and workable belief structure – tried and tested, and the highest we can find in every particular area. We should use the highest information known to mankind on the subject!

Your book of life starts with one or more pages of introductory thoughts and statements pinnacled by preferably one statement that sums up, and provides a central theme for development as outlined below.
