“Situated on the crest of a spur that juts from the Chianti mountains above Coltibuono, and which, going from north east to south west, divides the waters flowing to the Arno River from those flowing towards the Sienese Ombrone River”. So does Emanuele Repeti in his ‘Geographic, Physical and Historial Dictionary of Tuscany’, describe Radda’s geographic position, placing it between the water basins of the Arno and the Ombrone.
